On March 24, 2019, Camacho left his home in the morning to cover a local baseball game in the town of Salvador Alvarado. His family lost contact with him later that day, and his body was discovered that evening under a bridge in Salvador Alvarado. Authorities reported that Camacho had suffered severe head trauma and other injuries, likely caused by beatings.
